any old fashioned coastal living scot would run through a goarse bush naked for a herring, folk are very fond of the silver darling which sadly is not so easy to get anymore.

Gillies
How did you catch them? I heard of Herring being caught in Amble Harbour (Northumberland), a few years ago so their numbers must be on the increase.

Is there a ressurgence of the Herring. I have seen a number of threads mention them over the last few months but nothing before that. They have been catching quite a few at times at Brighton Marina since February I had never heard of that before.
