I fished method with maggot then baggin waggler but had to wait for my float to come back to a bank after a break. I was broke twice on 12lb line. not good. Weather spoiled it a bit for me worst rain ive ever fished in. -------------------- Be like the squirrel, girl

Well done. But I think you'll find that the fish actually caught you.
Twenty years ago, Boddington was a wonderful mixed fishery with good bream and very big pike. Then British Waterways emptied it and stuck in those stupid hungry carp. It's great that you're enjoying it, Monkeyboy, and I'm certainly not blaming you or anyone else for BW's actions, but this place was vandalised in the name of making money from carp anglers. I do hope easy carp go out of fashion, because there are a lot more excellent venues that could be sacrificed yet. It would be such a shame if all that was left was commercial carp-bagging pools. Personally, I got a bit fed up with catching carp nine years ago when I was averaging a (wild) twenty from my local river every (short) session on very simple baits. Maybe I'll return in a week or two and see if they are just as easy at 30 lb. I've got nowt against carp... except that I feel other species are being forgotten. If we must stock with alien species, let's have some interesting predators. Preferably ones that specialise in eating carp. -------------------- Fenboy

thats the thing though i can get fed up of catching roach (good roach at that) all day. But each too there own. There are still some nice fish in boddington apart from carp. youve got to target them!

what lakes arent stocked? Around me and even further you cant get away from stocked lakes. If i avoided all stocked lakes i might as well pack up fishing.

True, most lakes these days are stocked. One or two in my area aren't, but the rivers are better. If you ever fancy some great mixed fishing in Northants (River Nene) let me know and I'll put you onto something.
