Does anyone know who controls the fishing on the River Teise (Kent) downriver of the bridge on Pikefish Lane and the bridge on Darman Lane? The LAA control a stretch near Laddingford, but I've been unable to ascertain who controls the fishing on the in-between stretch(es). I don't know what's in it, but it looks "sexy" (slow and meandering with lots of lilies), and appeals further because it's obviously neglected by anglers. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi Jim, Not quite sure who controls the streth downstream of pikefish lane I think it may be CALPAC the stretch you refer to at laddingford has not been LAA for quite a while now this is at the back of moors farm and I think is available to fish on day ticket from Downham tackle south london, I used to fish this stretch regularly in the winter months when they open the sluice and drop the levels, Not sure how this stretch fishes in the summer but I have caught some fantastic fish adopting a roving approach and fishing bread or bunches of maggots to 3lb line under stick float or chubber,These include Carp of 17lb 10oz and 16lb four Roach over 2lb the biggest 2lb 5oz Grayling to 1lb 10oz Bream to 7lb 14oz good perch and chub with some bags to 60lb also good perch and the occasional Pike. A friend used to fish the stretch you are looking at and regularly had good chub and roach bags. There is also a stretch to the rear of a pup in laddingford ( cant believe I cant remember the name must be old age!!)this is slow and suitable for pole and waggler fishing again for great bags of roach etc. I know this doesnt help much with controlling info but hopefully will get your mouth watering, Good luck and I would be very interested in your findings as it really is a very underestimated water.
Tight lines: Kevin

Jim
I believe the Linton club have some of the Teise but their website is down so I am not sure if its the bit you are after. Kingfisher also have water in the area and may have some of the Teise.

Thanks to everyone who offered information, especially Kevin. Yes, I'm familiar with the Moors Farm stretch controlled by Paddock Wood - it's immediately upriver of the Pikefish Lane (what a terrific name for a road that crosses a river!) and down stretch that I am trying to find more about. The LAA still have a stretch (it may butt on to the downriver end of the Pikefish Lane/Darman Lane stretch). The LAA stretch looks nice (meanders through orchards), but I'm a bit apprehensive about car security - the car park is open (no locked gate), it is adjacent to the road and a longish walk from the river.
