Karl,
Why not try drifting the banks off Ventor on your way round. I have quite a few marks in my little book but that's 4,000 miles away at the moment, I'll PM you when I get back after Tuesday.

Try Freshwater ridge. A big sand bank a couple of miles due south of Freswater Bay on the South side of the Island. Easily spotted on a chart.

Occasional Turbot and Brill (the one and only ever on my boat, 2.5lb last year )and some good bass.

Good luck but be careful going round the Needles if you don't know the area. Ask the locals first.

Good luck!
