I was puzzled, at first, to see how many different groundbaits my tackle-dealer stocked. I'm just starting to appreciate how different the contents of all those bags are! For my most recent trip, I bought a bag of Van der Eynde 'Method', as I was intending to use a method feeder. The mix had the constistency of sticky clay, and stayed put on the feeder, even when left out for over an hour! My usual groundbait is Van der Eynde 'Special', but does anyone recommend anything different? Please don't add posts about never using proprietary groundbaits... I already know they aren't favoured by everybody!

I use BBPC "fishgutz" method mix with great results as it has a distinct 'brewery' smell.
I have also recently started using Sensas 'Crazy bait' Black, which I mix into a hook bait and use with paste hooks. I have often had really strong takes whilst still taking up slack line.

Sensas 'Explosive Feeder'. I've had some cracking days Roaching with this gear.

I tend to use the following:

Sensas Canal Black - Gudgeon line on canals
Sensas Roach 3000 - General use when I want a light coloured groundbait
Sensas Lake 3000 Black - General use but dark
Wizzo Stench - Tench fishing, particularly fond of this at the moment
Swimstim Green or Black - Carp puddles

Other than with Swimstim I tend to add 50% brown crumb.

I also use quite a bit of crushed hemp if I'm expecting roach or any larger fish.

Van den eye Expo is a great summer mix which I mix with brown crumb to make the mix a bit lighter as I find it a bit to stiff.

I have some Whizzo Stench to try when the Tench start having it.

This winter I used Cats and dogs moist chopped worm mix to good effect.

I also used sensas black magic mixed with some crushed hemp.

The best groundbait of all time has to be brown crumb as it can be mixed with any other groundbait, coloured or have any flavour added.
It is also very cheap when bought in a big sack.

Plain brown crumb for bream with perhaps some red addative,Van D/E or Sensas.
On the odd occasions that I use the method ,have found Fish Gutz very good.
Chuby.
