Guys, thinking of going over to Alderney in August for some serious bass fishing biggrin.gif tongue.gif , however the airline wont take any rods over 5 ft. So what travel rods would you recommend for overall fishing?

Also any one been there and sampled the fishing? I here it is top notch but what parts of the Island are best?

 YYS do a very good travel beach rod, 4 pieces I think in A good tube, they also do a travel carp rod in a tube, so that should cover everything. biggrin.gif

 There is a very good local charter boat called Alderney Felix, I don't have the skippers number but give Mark from the tackle shop a ring and I'm sure he'll fix you up. 01481 824884. biggrin.gif

what sort of rod are you looking for anyway? I saw a lovely 3 piece greys sea spinning rod to cast up to 3oz, 11 foot long, for £90 in a glasgow fishing shop... I was so tempted to buy it myself as the finish and look of the rod was amazing, and it has a very good firm action too.

Chappers: It's with Rockhoppers from Brighton direct, for 120 odd squid return

Glasgowdan: Thta sort of rod would be good but ideally I'd like to take a 12 footer/3 piece (Bass rod) and a heavier 4 - 8 oz beach rod

Spasor: I'll give Mark a bell and see if he can arrange tackle hire
