This 52 pound striper was caught earlier this month just across the pond. although our native bass dont grow to such a size it would still be regarded a fish of a lifetime if any of us caught one, one fifth the size of this. So who wants to live in america? me.......

MJB, Bob; two more very good reasons, in addition to the fish, for living here then?

Fishing in America is fab. So why wouldn't I live in America? Because you get so little time off to go fishing! Its bad enough here but at least we get 20-25 days plus public holidays.

I number of people I know get 10 days, there is limited employment protection and they are first in the office and last to leave just so they appear indispensable. Plus healthcare and legal insurance costs a fortune, and you rarely get any news except American news. I wonder how many Americans know about the A380 for example? It will be a big surprise when it turns up at their airports and runs over a couple of 747s by mistake biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

And interestingly, in Ameriac it is common to KEEP a couple of fish for the pot and it is social death (and an enforced law) to take undersized fish. Makes a lot more sense than one group of anglers putting everything back, and another group catching a killing everything, and authorities doing nothing about it in case it upsets their professional fishing lobbyists.
