Hell guys,
Does anyone know of any cheapish telescopic carpy rods? by carpy rods i mean, not such a strong test curve, so the smaller thest curves like the terry hearn, 1lb 9oz rods i think they are? or the 1.75TC ones,

if not then are these ones any good?

My Mrs has the Abu Segre telescopic which is excellent but I do not think ABU produce this anymore.
It used to knock out at about £40 if you hunt around you might still find one on Ebay or suchlike.
John Wilson does his 1.25lb test curve Nomad telescopic Avon but I've never seen or used one of these; look at www.wmac.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Specialist___50_to__100_48.html smile.gif smile.gif

I have the JW avon tele and its a very nice rod, but probably a little undergunned for carp at 1.25 tc....and its telescopic, but great for tench or small carp. He also does a 2.5 tc tele carp (nomad)but its more like 2 lbs really, but it has also been a very nice rod to use and i have landed several pike on it. It has ir#ts limitations , ie load and casting but for a tele it is very handy. Got it off ebay for £60 New .

Telescopic rods in general have always been pretty crap and I normally reccomend multi piece rods instead. However a few years ago a customer showed me a telescopic carp rod from DAM. It was very good. You had to look quite close to see that it wasnt a standard two piece.More importantly it felt very good too.Admitedly I only cast with it but impressed none the less.Might be worth seeing if DAM still make them or similar? smile.gif

The Abu Segre is on the lines of the old DAM Telescopic Carp and probably even better.
I can not understand why they took it off the market.
I understand Shakespeare do a pretty good telescopic carp rod that is very similar.
Mind you I use a couple of Fox Tourist 3.25lbs multi piece, which are not bad.

Shakespeare Telescopic look at www.nwac.co.uk/acatalog/Shakespeare_Telescopic_Rods.html

Fox Tourist look at
www.tackleshop.co.uk/ProductDetails/mcs/productID/1496/

Shimano do a multi piece exage which is similar and so do Fladden so look out for those as well.

P.S. so do Used Tackle at a pretty good prices

Phil,
I've got the 330H. Anyone know what test curve it might be? I reckon about 2lb. Bought it for Spain the other year and a good bit of gear.
