Back out of lurk-mode for a little while. Hello all, have I missed much?

The misses is pregnant again (my fault, apparently), so been a bit busy because she's had BAD morning sickness (hospitalisation and all that). Very grim...

Anyway, soon be back to normal, thought I'd check in to see how you all are. In the meantime, anybody got any angling goals for the year?

Me, I'm on "closed season" for now, but I'm looking forward to the summer. Last season's task of catching a Barbel was achieved thanks to Chris Plumb, and I even caught a single grayling from the Itchen!

This year I want to try to find a nice tench pond and fish for them with my Allcock Wizard and one of my home-made floats. I know... typical romantic Summer fishing... Problem is I don't really know what nice lily-pad covered tench lakes are round these parts. So that's my first task, find a nice quiet lake! If anybody knows a reasonable place in the Aylesbury area let me know!

I received my copy of Jack Hilton's Quest For Carp (see www.l-e-p.com) the other day, so I'm off to bed to start reading that so that it can go in "Chris Plumb's In-Tray" biggrin.gif

Heyup Spindle, nice to hear from you again. I've had a cracking Grayling winter myself with a new P.B. of 2lb 12ozs and losing another, possibly, bigger one on the same session. Congrats on the new rug-rat....can't wait for my latest to grow out of the nappies phase. Bloody Easter eggs don't seem to help with the smell of the things....

2-12 is HUGE! I witnessed one of Chris P's 2 pounders from the Itchen and it looked enormous, but when you're used to catching the odd tiddler like me ...

My other rug-rat is toddling... which means all the expensive stuff (ie. my fishing rods!) are safely out of the way...

Hiya Glenn - nice to see you back. Hope 'your' favourite red-head is feeling OK Maybe it'll be 3rd time lucky for BC next season! Still got your books - though Paul has now read most of them as well (I accidently left them in his car). Recently bought some close season reading from Steve Burke (Pike by Buller, Coarse Fishing by Sheringham and the New Complete Angler) and have started all 3 !!! (One for my way to work, one for me bedside and one next to me PC!)
I can put you onto one of 'my' local tench lakes if you fancy another early morning come June - no lily pads I'm afraid but pretty idyllic besides. See here and it produces tinca's this big biggrin.gif

See you in the summer.

Chris
