Went down for a dangle today on Cefyn Sidan, beautiful weather apart from the cold north wind. Still it was on my back and pushing the surf up.
Dangled for five hours without a single bite, not even a crab about, the rag just drowned. Had the whole beach to myself, I guess any prospective anglers had been tipped off. Try again tomorrow -------------------- I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. NFSA PM

I returned to the same mark today and had four flounders, returned three but kept the 1 1/2bl for tomorrows breakfast.
He swallowed the hook down to his backside without even a twitch on the rod, only knew he was about when I started to reel in. The wind was cold and turned round an easterly quarter but it was a nice bright day. -------------------- I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. NFSA PM

I fished Ogmore on Friday with my brother. He got 3 rockling, I got a turbot, 2 rockling and a decent whiting at the bottom of the tide. Learnt lots about the area, either through the fishing or talking to people. I now have a better idea of how to fish the area. There was one chap from Swansea who said the fishing was dead up there and was looking for somewhere else; I think there have been some, that is some, Penarth way. The catch may not sound much but we turned it into a simple points competition which proved a jovial cliff hanger right up to the last retrieve.
February is decent here, it's the summer that is lacking. -------------------- |
