A few of you may know another site that I own, www.NESA.co.uk , but have no day-to-day running of. The guys there look after it themselves and do a superb job of raising money for the RNLI. I believe that the total is approaching £5000. The latest events have added another £1000.

tack4,
if it is 6 hours to invergordon then it is only another hour and a half to us...lol. As for the winters, there is very little snow here, it is usually the east coast that suffers and gets blocked, we are lucky if we get a couple of inches of the white stuff sad.gif. power outages are a rarity where we are even though we are the last house on this particular line, don't have a genny but we do have a caravan sat behind the house that we can use if necessary. We may do something along those lines with an extra sweep for the RNLI / prize, we'll see what happens on the day smile.gif
Norrie,
No problem, i can take it into the lifeboat shed as it is next door to me at work smile.gif
Loch calder is only a few minutes away from us (well about 20 actually lol) stuart goes onto the river thurso for trout fishing.

no offence was meant norrie i was only trying to make sure every one took care. i lived in the highlands for fifteen years and am well aware of how quickly things change weather wise in winter with A9 snow gates closing and dreadfull conditions to drive in
January was always a dicey month with high winds always closing ski centers
If I offended anyone i sincerely appologise it was only meant to make folk aware

tack4,
i think everyone knew what you meant, especially if they have been up here.
we find it quite comical that we have maybe a dusting of snow and yet the A9 is closed somewhere or other. I have only been up here for 2 winters, and both of them it has been february that has thrown the worst at us. I think the longest the A9 has been closed for a while now is about 2 days, I am sure thurso angler will be able to tell you better than i smile.gif
BTW, this is our house and the view biggrin.gif
