Many thanks for vote of confidence, Cosmic-carper (whoever you are!).

Although the for sale/wanted part of Classic Fishing Books is bang up to date, I'm afraid the reviews side is rather behind. This is for the same reason I haven't posted much on the Forum for a while - a trapped nerve in my neck makes sitting at a computer a trifle difficult, let alone fishing.

However, please don't let that stop anyone sending reviews/articles/letters in! As soon as I can they'll all go up on Classic Fishing Books.

I've also just picked up another big batch of books, and apart from those I'll be keeping for my own collection, the others will be put on the for sale page very shortly.

It's sold but not yet paid for as I'm waiting to get it signed as soon as Peter Rogers gets to Wingham, hopefully later this week.

Unsigned copies of The Book of the Perch are now changing hands via dealers at £135 to £155, so the next one I have in will be more expensive - but not as much as this even though it'll be signed.

Anyone interested please contact me, although I've a long waiting list for a copy!

Charity shops can be ace!! Trouble is some have latched onto the value of angling books and sell them to dealers now.

Fishing books are certainly going up in price, especially those on carp, pike, perch and barbel. The latter two species have particularly increased in popularity in recent years.

On the other hand few publishers are willing to take a risk on fishing titles as sales are smaller than with other types of books. Hence there's a shortage of new books on fishing. It's therefore purely a question of supply and demand.

Peter Rogers and I have discussed it, but there's no chance of a reprint of The Book of the Perch, I'm afraid. One of the reasons is that I've started a new perch book that Little Egret have agreed to publish. This will be part instructional, part stories of my perch fishing trips.
