I don't think there's any such thing as a best flavour. I have used a variety, but my best catches have been on flavourless baits - those that don't have any chemical flavours added.

I generally take a whole selection of boilies and baits and I will try 2 baits at a time every hour until I find the bait that has the most activity on the other hand if you ask about and have a walk about you can normally getthe low down on the water your fishing and find what baits work best.

Which boiles do you lot use more off and finds it has more effect?? flavor wise. When fishing in the winter I personally think the fish prefer more smelly baits as such, for example savoury baits. My favourite boilies to use in the winter are red indians which coincidently are superb all year round. Having said this heathrow baits are no longer being produced as Ian, the founder, has joint another company. I doubt it will be too long before they bring out near enough the same boilie for this company - just with a different name In the summer I see it being a good idea to use bright, fruity baits and although pineapple does work i would advise to steer clear of it giving you an edge of having a unique bait. I favour Richworth's Tutti Frutti boilie myself. It's always a good idea to introduce a large pile of free offerings, these can be anything but I go for oily mixed pellets with a few scattered boilies in a pva bag. I hope I have been of help to whoever has read what i've said and good luck fishing, Dave |

I have to agree with that. If you've made up a good balanced bait, there is no point in adding a flavour at all. It might even mask some of the chemical signals given off by the ingredients. The main purpose of flavours is to sell them to anglers, not to attract fish. |
