I would like to say thanks to Chris Plumb for organising the AN fish in today.
Much enjoyment was had by all and the shower's did'nt dampen our enthusiasm - some stalwarts were still on the river at 'last knockings'.
It was also nice to put some faces to some 'avatars' - amazing how some are so similar! biggrin.gif
So who got what & how?
Not too sure what the stats for the day will be like but Leon was swatting the grayling like flies when I passed him.
My day:
After wandering the river to 'meet the folks' I got a dace, a small Grayling & a nice 2Lb brownie on maggot, followed by a very nice 1 1/4Lb Grayling on bread.
I had a few chucks with the fly rod later in the day & managed one tiny Grayling and two decent trout.
So it was back to the float rod for the last 2 hours which bought me a few more trout (although I was trying for the carp in the carrier).
So folks - what did you get? (and did anyone remember their camera?)

I got a few Grayling, a small roach, a trout, some minnows and lost a carp.

Seeing a 7lb 40z Brown Trout landed was cool.

Fantastic day. Cream-crackered now biggrin.gif

Thanks, Chris.

I just put a thank you on the other thread, didn't see this one, doh!

Glad to see you got home safely Elton, wheres my hooks????

I was trying to get one of those carp off the top, just free lining a piece of bread, first one snapped off at the hook, size 14 cahnged to a ten and the line went. Tried to hand line it in but the hook straightened gave up then and went in search of the roach, didn't find them! Pete had a couple 1 was just over the 1lb then just as we had to pack up he managed to get one of those carp, 7lb!! pretty little linear.

Thanks again Chris.

21 grayling, biggest 35cm at 1lb 3oz (had 5 over 30cm smile.gif )

1 chub 2lb 4oz

Quite a few roach (they seemed to take over the swim from the grayling sad.gif )

Had a jack on the lure rod (but it came off sad.gif )

Finished off with a nice rainbow, out of the slow feeder, after I'd stacked most of my kit in the car smile.gif

Thanks Chris, it was brilliant!

And wasn't the weather great?

No wind and just a few quick and gentle showers, despite rain on the way down and the forecaster forecasting 'terrible weather for everyone today'. Sunshine and distant rainbows smile.gif

Firstly thanks to Chris for another excellent fishery. Secondly not only did I catch my first Grayling, having failed at Barton Court. I am now having to start catching my second 50. Had about a dozen brown trout and one sea trout. Plenty of minnows gudgeon, one small chub and a few dace. Only managed 2 Grayling from the main river. Biggest Grayling was about 1lb. I was so impressed with Timsbury I am going to go later in the winter with my mate to see if I can get one of those 2lb fish that lurk in the main river. Look forward to the next one.
