Give him a cheque for £200.00! Buying rods and reels for other folk is like buying them shoes, they need to choose them and see if they like the fit.

Walking into your local tackle shop and taking their advice is as good as anywhere to start. You can buy tackle online but its almost impossible to get good advice online. You didn't say where you lived but these I think are some of the main dealers in the south of Ireland.
Cork, Murray's Patrick Street 00353 21 4271089 The Tackle Shop, Lavitts Quay 00353 21 4272842 Cobh, Cobh Fishing Tackle Ballynoe 00353 21 481 2167 Clonakilty, Clontackle and Leisure, Spillers Lane 00353 23 35580 If he already fishes then he'll have a good idea of what kind of tackle that he needs, so dont try to to guess. Why not surprise him on a birthday or anniversary? Take him out for the day, walk him into a tackle shop and let him choose. If he's a fan of Anglersnet, he's probably going to be reading this anyway and all over the south of Ireland right now there'll be anglers looking at their partners and wondering if its them that in for a treat, so give us a clue..his name isn't Patrick is it?
