'Forelle' is German for Trout. Perhaps a clue to its nationality.

I think 'forelle' is also french for trout: The maker's name has more of a french feel to it. Of course, french language could mean belgian, swiss or even from luxembourg. Why not paste a bit of the 'foreign' text onto a message, and see if we can translate it?

Is it rare?
Worth anything? It has 'Made in USA' on the foot plate. [ 01. April 2004, 01:44 AM: Message edited by: Ferret1959 ] |

chesters
I'm pretty sure that this (i.e your Emté Forelle) is a Hungarian reel, or was sold in Hungary Standby and I'll email My Man in Hungary and see what he says ... I'll lift your photo, if I may, to send to him, DG [ 02. April 2004, 01:31 PM: Message edited by: The Diamond Geezer ] |

You can translate some foreign sites into an amusing version of English using translation websites like babelfish.
Might give you a clue what some of the sites are saying. -------------------- Tim
