Does anybody know if the bass are starting to show in the South West or Wales yet ?
Although it looks as if we'll have to fish town beaches to avoid going onto agricultural land, I quite fancy a bash at these fish on lures if we get a settled spell.
I don't mind if they're small fish because most of them will be going back anyway.

last i heard they were still getting occasional bass on the bristol channel.

don't ecpest too many though, the french and scottsh will be doing their best to get them all ASAP, the scottish boats have already started but as of a couple of days ago, no mega catches.

Once they do the french will move in and yet again decimate the bass (and dolphin) population.

Not much chance of many reaching the Suffolk coast then!
Last year we had loads up the rivers Orwell
and Deben, most went about 2LB

RUDD,

If they appear this year, drop me a line, would you?

Elton (very near Ipswich!)

the last ten days has seen a small flurry of bass on my home island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, there have been at least three over 11 lbs and a few between the 7 to 10 lbs mark, hopefully a sign of good things to come!

p.s. unfortunatly none of them was caught by me,but I live in hope!

I saw an interesting post on another list last week. A guy was replying to a post about good bass marks. He said he had a few but was not pepared to say "online" where. The reason was this.

Allegedly it was suspected that a number of trawler types actively monitored these and other lists. If a spot was mentioned they moved in and wiped it out. The coincidence rate was just to high to ignore.

Thought provoking stuff.

Stu.
