I decided that it would be rude not to cast a line today, i visited a favourite spot for half an hour at lunchtime, and had 4 small perch. It feels great to be casting into rivers again.

I hope you all have success however you measure it.

It sure does.
First fish was a tiny dace smile.gif Had more of those and their tiny roach chums, 2 nice perch and 2 eels.
As I was thinking of packing up, it was almost funny to get hassled out of 'my' swim by a pair of swans and their 8(!) fat cygnets. They discovered my discarded corn and casters in the water and one of the swans got very hissy with me smile.gif Mum+Dad swan had a weird technique of churning up the mud just in front of the bank, I guess to swirl up all that free grub for their kids? Well, it's their river. I was just a guest.

My first fish was a 10lb 2oz common - lead me a merry dance in the dark (caught at 0030)on 4lb line and match rod (we were meant to be fishing for crucians).

Great to be on the bank again!
