First post, lo evryone smile.gif

I am relatively new to river and loch fishing, I mostly sea fishing at the coast catching makerel, I have started fishing in local rivers, but to no avail. Could anyone in Strathclyde/Renfrewshire area in Scotland suggest any rivers or lochs, for course or game fishing?

The White Cart's a great wee river Gareth. It's probably running coloured because of the rain and the amount of farmland it runs through but that 'dirt' has some cracking Brownies, Sea-trout and the odd Salmon running through it. Depending on where you are theres also Eels, Pike, Grayling, Perch, Dace, Roach, Minnow, Loach, Bullhead...blah de blah. You could do a lot worse than give it another bash when its not running so brown.
The White Cart and the Gryffe meet at the same point and what you find in one, you generally find in the other. It's just knowing how to and where to that's the difficult bit.
Drop me an E-mail and let me know what you want to aim for. I know mostly everywhere that's worth throwing a line. I can meet you at sometime if you want to try somewhere else other than the Cart.

Oh, I knew there were Grayling, Salmon and Trout but never knew there were Perch etc.
Thats a bit of a boost, so far I havent quite know what I should be doing as it seeemed, it was only trout in the Cart - and most websites only seem to give advice on fly fishing for trout, no other techniques, maybe I should look harder.
When you say the White Cart meets with the Gryffe, I think you mean the Black Cart. The Black Cart meets the Gryffe near Inchinnan Industial Estate, and the Black Cart meets with the White just past the swing bridge at Renfew, couple hunderd yards from where I live smile.gif

Do you have msn mate, so we can talk in a little bit more detail. Its is very encouraging to know that there is an experienced angler I can talk to about local rivers.
