That last point is a major one. One that we all overlooked on AN. If a Grebe, for example, had picked up a baited hook and died, and a keen birder found it, then angling would be in a major *hit hole, major league stuff, and no way out of it.

Congratulations to AN for the way they have handled this story. They haven't crowed over the Angling Times connection. They have presented the facts, presented relevant comments. Haven't tried to stir things up between silver fish and predator fans, as I think Angling Times has. Yep, well handled.
