Got the bait - 100 fresh lug. Going tonight as there is a nice bit of surf running. Dont expect to catch anything as I know nothing about this illusive fish, but im gonna give it a go about 8.30pm till dark. Fingers crossed.

 Is lug a viable bait in June?
Is the rule: lug & squid a winter bait and Rag & mackerel the summer baits? or is it more regional? I fish the east & south coasts. Good luck on your bass quest -------------------- A bunch of my friends have Eggs. They rave about how great they are,
but I haven't seen them do anything I can't do. |

Good luck.
I'd say you're pretty much right n4lly, but I'm sure they'd still take lug and squid if they were in front of their noses -------------------- Dan

Myself and Macky spoke earlier this year and he said then that lug would be a good bait. I forgot which plug you said to use though Macks?????
I also picked a lads brains the other week and he said lug was also the best bait from the venue I chose. If I venture round to the rocks though im assuming my worm will be eaten in seconds by the crabs??? |

Yes, Bass will take lug, this critter took one
17th Nov @ Felixstowe... ![]() But in June, would not think of hitting the beach with just lug, when bass hunting, just a south east view point -------------------- A bunch of my friends have Eggs. They rave about how great they are,
but I haven't seen them do anything I can't do. |
