After several months of heavily coloured water and poor fishing, the water is beginning to clear off Whitby, and so its no coincidence that this week has seen a vast improvement in cod fishing for the Whitby charter boats. Paul Kilpatrick phoned me yesterday and his excitement was clear in his voice - "We've had a great day with lots of cod and a good few well into double figures". Paul himself had one at 15 pounds. Here's a couple of pictures sent on by Sea Urchin skipper Mick Leonard who had a days fishing yesterday on Sea Otter 2
