Oh, so the Angling Trust has 'won' us the right to carry on doing what we've always done, then, have they? All by themselves. Well done to them, then. I wish angling organisations would stop it with these exagerated and sensationlist press releases when there really isn't anything to celebrate. It seems like they are using the same spin tactics that was used by Martin salter's labour party, and I, for one, don't like it. Instead of patting themselves on the back and misleading sea anglers into thinking everything is going to be alright, they ought to be asking what conditions will be attached to sea anglers 'winning' the right to fish in the sea. Because you can bet your life there will be plenty. This post has been edited by Steve Coppolo: Jul 4 2009, 02:27 PM -------------------- DRUNK DRIVERS WRECK LIVES.

Strewth You blow hot and cold don't you No, not at all. If I think something is good, I'll say so. Likewise if I think something is bad, I'll say so. Maybe it's the AT that are blowing hot and cold? Or maybe you think we should all just follow blindly? -------------------- DRUNK DRIVERS WRECK LIVES.

Steve, it has been agreed in both houses of parliament that the rights within Magna Carta can be over ridden so, in this case, Salter has done good. EU conservation law, and un-Natural England, are dangerous forces to be reckoned with. Because we have done it in the past is no guarantee that we can do it in the future. Your shoulder is for looking over, use it or loose it!

Which is why I'm a bit surprised that the AT are claiming victory. Either they don't know what the threats are, in which case we should be worried, or they are trying to kid us all. -------------------- DRUNK DRIVERS WRECK LIVES.

Hello Steve With ever increasing references to Quote: The unrelenting damage that has been caused to our coastal regions by overfishing, and especially trawling, has damaged the ecosystem to dangerous levels. The AT are sounding more like a environmental group them selves. -------------------- I fish to live and live to fish.

I dare not watch it Barry, my gaskets would not hold , fuses would blow and I probably would not sleep for a week afterwards. I suppose we will be bombarded with a lot of this sort of crap leading up to bringing in the Marine Bill and to justify all the closed areas . -------------------- I fish to live and live to fish.

QUOTE I suppose we will be bombarded with a lot of this sort of crap leading up to bringing in the Marine Bill and to justify all the closed areas I'd love to be part of the MCZ in my part of the world (I hope I'm going to) .... you have no idea about the bending of the rules; genocide and paedophilia of basslings/spawning bream and cuttles going on here. Plus the environmental devastation from my local scallopers. Even the whelkers are having a real nuke on the environment ... where have hermit crabs gone? (No homes to go to?) I used to catch 20 fer bait. No more here. Yes it's an emotive comment; but I'm fed up with the odd(?) commercial who 'pops' up here or on WSF and claims 'victimisation' ... prats! Would you like to see who the prat really is and discuss any of your comments -------------------- I fish to live and live to fish.

Either they don't know what the threats are, in which case we should be worried, or they are trying to kid us all. I think the angling trust are on a recruitment drive and think if they put these press releases out there membership will swell over night. Also I reckon they want to take us to the table in the MCZ debates. What became clear to me when Natural England came to the north east to discuss MCZ was they dont have a damn clue about the coastline, they dont know where we fish, when we fish. They dont know our secret little bays where we collect bait, they know not a lot. What they do know is they want to fool us into handing over all our information so they can use it to our detriment. Anyone who doesnt copllect their bait off the shelf in Sainsburies and doesnt fish in some dirty little creek for mullet should think long and hard before handing over their hard earned fishing information to the likes of NE or the AT who seem dead set on going to sit at the table. -------------------- |

Unfortunatly it won't be the angler nor the commercial for that matter who will have the say regarding this issue. So do you want to be on the inside 'p' ing out or on the outside 'p' ing in. If you do nothing, i.e. bu@@er it i'm off fishing. How do you argue against these guys? APOLOGIES; BUT THAT LINK APPEARS NOT TO WORK! Yes, but it's not a HEN. The trouble now is, that I may become a tree-hugger .... nooo, I didn't say that! Cutting rain forests is a real BIG issue ... but , don't worry, I'll still go fushun'! ![]() I wanted to bash him on the head yesterday and pretend I needed it for survival. But I couldn't do it!!!
