Have they packed up or what. Not a dicky bird out of this organisation for a while, didn't know if they have given up or they have sorted all the fishy ills. cool.gif whistling.gif

What a load of cobblers!

You obviously don't read any of the press releases that Elton posts up on the Forum then.

Presumably you're also not a member as you would be receiving lots of e-mails from them too.

Personally, I'd rather they kept quiet unless they have something important to say. All the sensationalist bullshit headlines we've seen from some other sea angling bodies recently have done us no favours at all.

As the AT have started doing a few good things recently, like electing a new marine director, telling cefas to get stuffed, and giving us a proper angler as regional representative in Essex, I've actually joined up! Hopefully, they'll do the rest of what's necessary over the next year. If they do, I'll rejoin again when my membership runs out.

The reason's given in the post above, Brian. i.e,

............electing a new marine director, telling cefas to get stuffed, and giving us a proper angler as regional representative in Essex..........

They need to do a lot more yet, but it's a good start as far as I'm concerned. If the AT are prepared to do what I think is necessary to change things, then of course, I'm going to support them. And if they carry on and do more of what's necessary over the next 12 months, I'll show my continued support by joining them again.

Seems like a good reason and a good start from the AT

A new organisation that has a stronger starting position than any of the organisations they've replaced ever finished with

Im happy with them being quiet when they need to. Its the constant whinging of SACN, NFSA and BASS that has brought us to the position we now find ourselves in. What is worrying me is that Leons name seems to figure on the minutes of AT board meetings, and to make matters worse so is the name of Dave Morton (The bloke who told wwf that fishing in the north east is on its knees). If anyone could do a worse job than of misrepresenting anglers than Leon does, its his mate Dave Morton. Whilst Laurel and Hardy are pulling the strings my cash stays firmly in my wallet.
