We would like to save the salmon, but we really don't know how,
if you have a good idea, then please expound it now.
It is of course important to save all of my fish first
we will get round to yours of course, but mine have been hit worst.

I really don't see why I should have to bear this awful strain
the thought of losing all my fish, causes me great pain
of course yours are important too, but they are so far away,
lets make sure first, that I can fish, we´ll save yours another day.

What do you mean you need to eat ? that's a lousy attitude,
salmon and trout are there for fun, not to be wasted just for food
a true angler would see this without further explanation,
I can see you´re just a killer, and just seeking confrontation.

I release the fish I catch, this is the only noble way to be
I do not commit the shocking crime of taking them for tea,
If I want fish I go downtown, and get a plastic packed import,
it´s easier to prepare the stuff, and does not impact my sport.

Oh yes I suppose they are killed as well, but that is how things go,
that´s not at all the same, as catching salmon and trout you know.
Those fish come from somewhere else, far away from here,
and there's not much point in worrying about distant lands I fear.

Of course I like to eat fish, but that's not what it´s about,
this is about conserving some rare and lovely trout
it is not my fault if others, are greedy blind and dumb
all I want to do is fish, I´m not greedy unlike some.

I don't set nets and I don't build dams, I fish with a fly
and I hope that I may do so, until the day I die,
Another thing I hate as well, it really makes me squirm
is all these evil people,who go poaching with a worm

They should be shot, they should be hung, they are beyond the pale,
I would ban them all tomorrow, so that I might then prevail.
what really gets me going though, and what I really hate
are the lowly scum I sometimes meet, using power bait

My method is superior, and my ethics beyond reproach,
and I don't see why anybody should on my rights encroach
The law it should be changed at once so that I can fish in peace
the dams and nets and worms and things immediately cease.

Where were we then ? Oh yes, I know, about to save "your" fish,
well I suppose we can discuss it , if that really is your wish
but then again, lets make it quick, I have no time for all this useless wishing
my fish are still OK, and I really am too busy, I am going fishing.
