cant you just take another picture without the lady in it biggrin.gif tongue.gif .
Den did ok .the little old lady next door asked me to revitalise a picture of her deceased hubby (black and white photo) i removed the toilette tent from behind him (he was on a horse at a polo match) but now had sections missing and used a picture of her lawn and the sky to put in the background (i pointed out her hubby now "stood" in her garden) ,she broke into tears on getting it ,next day her friend brought round 3 pictures of her late pets for me to make the impossible appear true , in the final print all 3 pets appeared to be sitting next to each other in her sitting room despite having lived decades apart biggrin.gif
the first one was easy but having to place 3 things in a room keeping perspective was hard ,both dogs were actually looking down at the cat ,she now has memory problems so probably wonders why two of the animals dont respond to her calls sad.gif

Had a quick go for you Judy.

Cropped the shot, removed background and placed you on a black background. I've saved the photoshop file so I can change the background colour if you like...or put another photo behind you...whatever you want really.

Well Nursey as I did not have the original file I have tried with the posted copy, I thought as the photo's behind will be of your grandchildren maybe that to leave them in would be nice, I have then given a graduated background which can be changed should you wish.

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

"Even a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work."

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

Well done guys and not one of you added a moustache. rolleyes.gif

Steve do you use the polygonal lasso tool to remove the background, if not is there a tut for it that you know of.

Cheers Fred

Whilst I think some would find it very useful, I dont like the polygonal lassoo tool as for me it tends to do what it wants. It can be made to work but I think there are far faster/easier methods of selection, and I use whatever suits the situation I need at time.

For Judy's photo I used the pen tool and rather than go into a long winded tut on the subject...I've googled and found this nice simple tut on how to use it written for the beginner. http://www.melissaclifton.com/tutorial-pentool.html

Using the pen tool it took me five minutes to remove the background from Judys photo.
