326 views and no reply mate? That's why I hardly use this forum now.
I use Navigators and General.
I have 4 kayaks, 2 Bics, a Prowler 13 Angler, and a Percerption Freedom, plus a trailer.
I get a discount for multiple kayaks, and it costs around £60 per year for the lot.
One million public liability, theft from room rack and trailer, and of the trailer also covered.
Pretty good deal.

Probably not, I buy cheap rods and reels on flea bay, good enough for the kayak, a handline catches anything for almost no cost, but it doesn't feel like fishing!
Do you use rod leashes?

Im a little fearful of rod leashes in case I FALL off and get them wrapped around my legs. I opt for cheap rods now as this year has proven expensive. To date Ive lost 1 shimano exage spinning rod (Value £50), 1 Penn 535 Mag (Value £100+), 1 Rovex Integra Gold 20lb Boat rod (Value £20), And snapped 1 Daiwa whisker spin rod (Value £100+), and snapped 1 paddle.

Blimey, is that kind of loss pretty much par for the course when kayak fishing?

Not if you use rod leashes, in three years i've broken 1 rod and thats it, being that close to salt water can be pretty hard on reels though you have to be sure to clean them after each trip if you want them to last. Oh yes i insure my yaks through the BCU.

Not really, but I lost an 8lb Cod last year, jumped out of the fish tray on the back of the kayak!

I think I found it. Was it a kind mottled beige on the flanks with a white underbelly? If so, my wife said it was delicious, thanks biggrin.gif
