Just a few ideas that might help the lure types out there.

The first shot, top left, shows a Gemini Geni link. Believe me, there is nothing better for lures, nothing to go wrong whatsoever, flawless.

Lower left, the famous Roberts Tackle lift. Great, ride a lure up on the surface, ultimate sink and draw jobby for spoons! Pop it just ahead of your trace and play with it. You'll be surprised! Also useful for lifting bottom tackle up and over weed beds and speeds up retrieves from a distance.

Top right, various anti kink vanes from Harris Angling and ABU. The grey one is an ABU from the 60's, brillient, I dread the day when I run out. The red plastic is also, theoretically, useful for attracting fish. Presumably why it has wire either side, it might get gobbled. The clear one is great, reduces kinking to a minimum and really has no weight that can interfere with the lure.

Bottom right. The really useless half moon claer plastic job that so many angling shops carry. I got the idea from an American magazine, years ago, to stick either half cork balls, or half lead bullets either side of the vane in an attempt to make them work, which it does. Then it dawned on me that I didn't need the half moon of plastic, just make a half moon of trace wire. Far easier and it works just as well.
