Well,well,well who would have believed it eh! Looks like Mr Ficklings been counting his sums up wrong! For those of you that dont know what im on about a Mr Phil Cheriton has been casting doubt on Nevs true tally of 20lb+ caught pike.Nev wrote in issue 20 (July 99) of pike + predators that he caught his 100th 20lb+ pike on Lomond that weighed 23lb 4oz.Funnily though in his own book piking in the 80s,the same fish is reported to be his 51st! If these revelations are found to be true,old Nevs fragile reputation will be in absolute tatters.As they say in life you reep what you sow,could be that Nev might be going hungry this winter.(dont worry too much though Nev,im sure Gord will be more than happy to cook you a zander fillet with all the trimmings if you end up in the gutters!)

I am aware how contoversial this topic has been, is now and quite obviously will continue to be.

As for being constructive, "Lets go fishing instead" is incredibly constructive, given the recent postings about this man.

So, your being constructive by tearing apart a mans reputation, given any chance whatsoever? I think that that is "knocking down", not constructive..

You are obviously involved at some level with this whole debarcle, when was the last time anyone talked about Pike? or Pike fishing? or Pike conservation.

I posted the initial comment above in an attempt to ligthen a topic that quite frankly has bored the pants off everyone on here.

Why dont you buy a radar trap and see if you can catch him speeding aswell?

You could throw some dubious seeds into his garden, and have him arrested for cultivating drugs..the list is endless.

So now you will come back and post bad comments at me...the thread will be locked..and you'll start another.

No need for me to get nasty Steve,the point of this site is for anglers to discuss whatever topic they have an opinion on.I am relativley new to this forum and have never been involved in, or seen this particular topic on this site.There is plenty of subjects posted on this site that i think are an absoloute nonsense, but i dont submit a reply to these posts + criticize them for the simple reason that what may not appeal to me,might interest someone else.In other words if you dont want to be involved in a certain discussion go + find one that does interest you.
