I paid £125.00 for my rake smile.gif All ally sections, goes out 50 feet (or more if you have more sections)

No throwing, just push it out , let it sink, and pull back. Next time push it out 2 feet to left or right and repeat. I can clean a strip about 8 feet wide by whatever length I need, in a few minutes. And I can tell you what the botom is like smile.gif

I have used a throwing rake in the past, but I found it very ineficient and innacurate. If it gets stuck, then push back, turn over and it comes free.

it will last a month if your lucky ,still a good use for old coat hangers i 'spose
the pathetic vid was hilarious lots of soft weed on the first chuck ,tangled completely on the second then a repeat of the first chuck again (gave up watching then),how about a vid of it clearing real weed?

And that is the problem/downfall of any "rake" that has to be thrown.

I will have a word with the guy who made mine, and see if he will let me put a video on Utube unsure.gif They do seem a bit expensive to start with, but should last for years and years. Last summer I cleared a 6/8 foot wide strip each side of about 15 swims...none took longer than 10 mins or so, and they were CLEAR.

A bit sensitive Jim, I don't want to give away someone elses idea. He/we put in a lot of effort and testing before I was happy with it. Costly, but the materials are not cheap, and it is probably ideal for a small group or club to buy. I have no financial interest, if I did have, you would have seen the pics some time ago smile.gif

I love mine, I now know just where the gravel patches are in several swims smile.gif

Well just goes to show there is nothing new smile.gif smile.gif

Almost exactly the same, including the vane on the front end to keep it up whilst "surfing" in fact, the more I read about it, the more I see similarities smile.gif Looking at the video on Ebay, you can hear the rake scraping on the gravel bottom smile.gif

Certainly puts paid to the idea of patenting it....already been applied for!

Price is similar though.
