Recently bought a Leeda Assassin 6m Margin Pole (£16 bargain!).

The elastic rating of the pole is 20 but I was thinking of putting on about 14 - how can I make this a happy medium for catching silvers along with the low double carp?

The other thing is having looked at the 'how to's' for elasticating a pole I'm kind of worried about going anywhere near it with a hacksaw!

How much should I expect to pay at a tackle shop for it to be elasticated excluding the cost of the bits needed?

Finally can anyone recommend which parts I should get - the jargon of hydro, pulla bung etc can be quite daunting!

Thanks all
LDM

the very first link googling "elasticating a pole"
http://www.maggotdrowning.com/pole/elasticating_a_pole.htm
theres many others
there is no happy medium thats why pole anglers have many tops a heavy elastic will bump off small fish a light elastic will let bigger ones bump off in the nearest weeds.
if angling was a logical sport where big fish only bit on heavy tackle and small ones on light then it wouldnt be worth doing it biggrin.gif
