Just found this. I'm tempted by the organic gin for G&T's but the real bargain is the cheap stuff that's ideal for home made Sloe Gin and Damson Vodka.

Cheers for the 'heads up'

I'm planning a sloe gin brew later in the year so will be useful. Currently got some elderflower champagne (with a healthy twist of gin) fermenting.

...but have you the will power to leave it in the cupboard until the first frosts have brought the sloes into the best condition ?

The cheap stuff had flown off the shelves by the time I looked today. I picked up some decent gin for G&T's in the garden though.
The offer should be on until midnight next tuesday and the price stickers were definatly on the shelves so I'll just try to catch a re-stocking.

it would stay there for ever! gin is worse than drinking BRUT (the noted 70's man perfume) biggrin.gif

i have committed cardinal sin mixing single malt whiskies ,mixed white and dark rum and a whole host of other firewater naughties but i cannot stomach gin thumbdown.gif
even that drink that tastes of pine needles tastes better (Green Chartreuse)

Gin and white rum are about the only spirits that I don't drink neat but with mixers in summer I do love them.

G&T with ice and a slice is a classic.

Wray & Nephew white rum with mango pulp and orange juice over ice isn't a classic but it should be.

The cheapo Gin and Vodka are really only fit for flavouring with something else and sloe gin really is a Brittish classic.
