About 20 years ago I bought a pair of Skeetex moonboots, which although on their third set of linings, are still going strong today. However, during those 20 years of use I have put up with the fact that they are not a particularly good fit & my toes get cold as there is not much room for them to move in the boots. When I bought the boots, I followed advice I had read in the Angling Times to get a snug fit. Anyway, the next size up in the Skeetex, was & still is, far too big for my feet, catering for feet of up to two sizes bigger than mine. I am now looking to replace my Skeetex boots, with similar thermal “Wellingtons” (i.e. NOT LACED FIELD BOOTS OR WALKING BOOTS). I have been considering either the Sundridge Hotfoot boots, or the Derriboots in either the Neptune or Pisces variants. I would appreciate any comments from people who have used these boots, or have any suggestions about alternatives.

I use sundridge hotfoot boots and have never had cold feet.
I use them for beach and all winter coarse fishing. One tip I will give is for sock type. Go to a walking shop and get yourself some decent thin thermal socks. This way you can get your feet to fit just right and have several thermal layers to keep your feet warm as heat gets trapped between the layers. I also use this principal in my choice of garments. If you get cold you can add another thin layer, if hot take one off. -------------------- RUDD

I had the same problem as you, and for me the solution is a pair of Sundridge Neoprene boots, which I rate as one of the best items of gear I've ever used - of any kind.
See my field test at http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/reviews/sundridge.htm I'd add that I originally thought I'd still use my moonboots in really cold weather when I was staying in one spot. However, I haven't used them for a couple of years now. BTW, my boots are green, not blue as seen in the picture. -------------------- Classic Fishing Books http://cfitz.brinkster.net/fishbooks/main.asp 100s of fishing books for sale/wanted + reviews

Another vote for the Sundridge neophrenes. Very comfortable, very warm (with thin thermal socks even warmer) the only boots I can properly walk in and also launch my boat off a shallow beach. Since they are so light you can also use them on wet summer days without being too hot. Would have liked a less obvious colour than red (didnt realise they came in blue and green) but a small thing.
