Got one too Ant, good value. Makes you wonder what price this guy buys them in for if he can sell them for £45 inc postage.

Especialy since the rrp is £99.99.
Of course, I havn't had the chance to use it yet, but it seems like it could handle more than the stated 3 - 6lb. -------------------- Eat right, stay fit, die anyway. |

I've had everything from a 1oz gudgeon to a 550lb black marlin on mine.
OK I lied about the gudgeon -------------------- 'I've got a mind like a steel wassitsname'

QUOTE *Anthony*: I've got a pair of the old ones, still love 'em, still use 'em. John used them with 8lb line on Go Fishing many times, and I caught a 15lb carp on 11lb braid on one of mine.Especialy since the rrp is £99.99. Of course, I havn't had the chance to use it yet, but it seems like it could handle more than the stated 3 - 6lb. The original was one of the best all-round rods you can buy IMO, so no doubt this new one is pretty good too. -------------------- |

I've got one of the older ones, and one of the newer Avon ones, and apart from the ability to extend it to 13' when needed I think the old one is actually the better rod
It has better rings, spigotted joints rather than the put over joints of the new one, and just "feels" nicer when playing a fish I have a lot of trouble using the system rod with my 'pin and light float tackle, the rings on the top section are set too close to the blank and cause wet line to stick, making casting difficult. Mat- I agree. Not the best rod for floatfishing imo.
