YY, sorry if this sounds picky, but isn't that lovely colour scheme a bit SAR unfriendly? Not as easy to spot as a nice bright Orange/yellow.

Just a thought....

Yakity,

Whilst looking for the bedpan I noticed that your skirting needs a little work, filler holes still showing, come on... no the loo isn't finished yet, just in case you were going to ask. :D

Hiya Starvin,

:D:D My compliments Sir, your powers of observation are spot on.

I didnt finnish the decoration......to my shame :( and Lorraines wrath :D

We changed colour scheme, and hated it, so I didnt bother at all with the undercoat and gloss.

This I hasten to add will be corrected before the season starts.( orders from she who must be obeyed )

Yes the Yak is takeing shape now, still a bit to do.

The colour scheme isnt exactly high vis, I intend to fly a high vis flag from the Yak to compensate this. Food for thought, for all Yakers.

Yes I have blocked off the flushmounts, would be in trouble if I hadnt.

Re the Hatches, I have fitted them purely to gain access to the interiour of the Yak.

So I can fit the fishfinder, handles etc.

I will not be opening them at sea, they will stay firmly closed.

The Fishfinder I chose is the Hummingbird 565.

Yes, with the dual beam. I pick it up tomorrow.

Was looking at the portable options, but went for this instead.

Of course you can have a paddle Marv , it will be nice to see you again.

Give us more warning next time mate.

The BEDPAN  :D is to beat the chit out of Millsey if he gets more fish than me.

I take it YOU WILL finnish the loo soon.....heh heh.

Im happy to say that Aarron, my son, is comming out on the other Yak with me this year.

Later.

Yakity. :)

Hiya Salar,

What you say is absolutely correct, re the colours of the Yak.

The other Yaks, one bright green, the other red, stand out very well on the water, but

I still got idiot boaters flying past, just to watch me in thier wake :D

I value your comments, but rest assured, I have the situation in hand, and will be flying a large, high vis flag.

Being in such a small craft, that is also a low profile on the water, tends to make you think a bit about how to make yourself visible.

Cheers mate.

Yakity. :)

Hi Grant,

Glad you like her mate :)

Yes I troll plugs, tobys, and live baits.

Great fun, and soooooo relaxing, a realy nice way to play :D

The options open to you are many fold, and its all good fun experimenting.

The best I caught last year, took a good 70 yards of line........it was some pratt in a speed boat :D .

Did you get your Yak off your mate yet??

Later.

Yakity. :)

Hi Ken,

The Ocean Kayak Ambush.....From what you say in your p.m. Id say it was a poor choice for you.

Your fishing is concentrated in esturies, as you said this means tide flow.

Given the fact that the Ambush has a 44inch width, and is high in the water, any tide, and wind would make it a tub to paddle, even on less flowing waters.

If you were thinking of a trolling motor, I think it may struggle in the tide/wind.

If the trolling motor failed, you would have one hell of a job paddleing the Ambush.

More suited to lakes Ken.

Fishing from a Yak in tides can be bloomin hard work.

Have a look at the Ocean Kayaks.....Drifter.......Caper........Prowler 13........Scrambler xt....all good serviceable Yaks.

Yakity. :)
