Kayak Rigging

Hey YY :) nice setup but its about time I bought some shares in B&Q if that shock cord is the same stuff i have :P .

I think Salars comment on the colour is spot on. My yak is the same blue/white mix and its not ideal. In future I'd like a vivid orange or green but you have to live with what you have i guess; don't know about you but I compensate by dressing up in bright kit; if im in trouble then its likely me and the yak have parted company and its me i want rescued :)

Salar is right though; highly visible yak good, blue/white ocean colour bad

Yakity,

Good choice on the Finder, it's great being able to remove the screen when transporting and dual beam will give you much better coverage than my old single beam, very pleased with my unit, if you have any problem with the fitting I know a great site. :D:D:D

If you do have any problems powering the unit up from your battery let me know, my powerlead had been made incorrectly with the positive lead leading to the negative side of the plug, just needed to attach to the wrong sides of the battery and away I went. I did test the cable before doing this though, didn't want to bugger up the unit.

Good luck with it.

nice one yakety,

have trawled ebay for a yak, just dont seem to be any close by that i can afford. will keep looking. know of any for sale around your area ?

did i tell you that i had forgotten that i used to go yaking. i was wondering how i'd get on with rolling the thing & so on, then i thought, hold on a minute..........

all i can say kids is don't drink, don't do drugs & eat your green vegetables. then you might retain some of your brain cells. i wouldn't mind but i'm only 21.

Ziggy,

Check in your local paper, Canoeist Magazine, maybe even your local kayak shop, they may do trade-ins or have a demonstrator for sale.

Keep looking.

Hey Jaffa,

Where you been hideing, nice to hear from you again.

What have you been up to?.....did you ever make that repair to your Yak?

As you can see, still plodding away :D

The colour !!!! ......yes I know , not the perfect combination or SAR friendly.

I do intend to fly a high vis flag at sea, this comeing season.

The Bungee is the B&Q variety, cheaper on a Wednesday :D:D

Looking forward to the season , cant wait :)

Hiya Starvin,

I will bear that site in mind :D

If I find any leads back to front, Ill turn the unit around to compensate :D

Re the unit, yep the dual beam will be handy, trouble is, you have to find a happy medium, or you can go into hundreds,....... not needed expense.

This little jobby will do the job nicely, at a good price.

By the way......hows your Transducer cope with reception on BBC 1:D

Yakity. :)
