WARRIER VERSES EXPLORER

Hi Sam-Cox

Yes all I have read indicates a far better lift to the hull and an improvement to overall stability underway I know that the Leewood has a model with an outrigger fitted but have not had a chance to discuss it's performance.  My main interest is in its versatility of fitting, on my 22 I could have one mould that would do for inboard and outboard also you can vary the size of the outrigger to take one engine or two.  Will probably build a prototype this summer to test.

Have a look at this site:-

A mate of mine has one, but I've not been able to compare it to mine. He seems to get better speed with his 150hp outboard, but it's a lighter boat (no cuddy, less equipment, lighter engine). The only problem I foresee with an outboard on a ledge at the back is the lack of surface area to take the weight. I would also guess the extra distance behind the boat would make it harder to clear net/rope that gets caught round the prop.

When we have finished her Im thinking of selling it and buying a fast 22 ft pus hull and fitting it out. Wilson do a 23 very competitively.
