During recent posts on the Forum I was unsure if out recent collecting of Char for Ferox baits would pay dividends. Judge for yourselves from last weekends trip.

Amazing, who would guess that those little brown fish in our streams could turn out like that.

Ferox fishing must be as good as it gets in the UK, you are very lucky, at least we get to share your stories and pictures, thank you.

Hi there all.how were you fishing your charr.?.I've been trying out those zebco baitmounts recently with charr and trout without much success.Spinning them seems to get a bit more action.

Hi and welcome to AN Fergie. I like my baits to spin and use home-made "Archer" flights. "Ferox Fisher" likes his bait to have a slow wobble, I'm not sure about Gerry's preferences. I guess it's down to experience and confidence and what has worked for you in the past.

I have used the wobble method a few times and not had much success.Except in ireland where wobbled roach is lethal.Your dead right its a confidence thing. In fact almost all my ferox have been to lures. The 18cm original floating rapala being a favorite.I do like the spun bait though but the wee spratmounts i have limit the bait size.Might have to do a bit of diy myself. What metal do you use?Was going to use zink easy to cut but too sharp for my liking.

Cheers Fergie
