Hi Mike

Glad it turned up on time and looks OK

Good luck with it next week

If you ever fancy a trip up from Fife there are a few good fisheries up here:)

I might even initiate you into the mysteries of the float tube:D :D

If you are on Morlich next week and fancy a short drive, head North of Grantown on Spey to Loch Lochindorb.

Loads of wild brownies, the bank fishing is free (youll need waders, it's very shallow) or boat hire is about a tenner. Great place to practice with a new rod:D

Do they make float tubes in XXL? A float tube would be good on Loch Morlich, and save the expensive boat hire there.

Loch Lochindorb looks good, I think a visit there is a definate possibility. The Bothy Cottage looks like it might be good to book for a week sometime.

Sorry not to have picked up on this thread before but I,m in hiding from mrs Sportsman. I could probably sort out a fishing session at an undisclosed water  if you fancied it. There are some really good waters around us. Nearly all of them are boat venues but I find that people learn to fish quicker from boats as there are no obstructions be hind them, plus theres no cover for mrs Sportsman to sneek up and gain retrebution!! :):) post a reply if your interested, I know peterthefisherman is looking to join a trip, and we can maybe organise a day out for several an members.

Hi Jim,

I would definately be interested. I've not fly fished from a boat before, only bank and river. It would be great to try. I met peterthefisherman on a sea fishing trip to Scrabster at the beginning of the year.

As I said earlier in the thread I'm on holiday at Loch Morlich next week, but I'm also on holiday the following week, but just at home.

Cheers,

Mike

Don't count on it Jim. I wondered why she wanted that "realtree" float tube. I thought she was taking up carp fishing :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Back from holiday now. We didn't get as many chances to go fishing as I would've liked, but did get a couple of 4 hour sessions at the fishery. Wife likes her Lureflash Viper and managed to hook a fish and land one I hooked. She is keen to do more.

Well Mr Doyle and Mr and Mrs Dodds. Sounds like a meet is in order :)

The Dundee / Perth area would seem pretty central and that is Jim's stomping ground so pick a venue and lets get a bend in the new rod :D

Look forward to it

BTW Jim, did you mean tangles life or tangled wife? :D
