Tyke - if you haven't already, you might send Mr. King a link to this thread. And maybe some numbers for how many folks look in here over the course of a week.

I think he deserves a large vote of "thanks" for posting such a lengthy and informational reply.

Just reading these posts brings to mind a chair I bought, I was looking for a folding chair and saw a Shakespeare one for 39-99, went to Netto and saw the same chair (without the Shakespeare tag) for a measly 9-99 and as it was their last one and didn't have a price ticket on the manager let me have it for 4-99 a saving of 35 quid and it is comfortable as well. If you want cheap floats and good quality as well you can do no worse than checking these guys out www.floats-direct.com they are quick and the floats are all under £1 and postage is only 80p

Chris63:

I think you will find it comes down to a tax issue (as well as Carp fishermen being easy game). I believe pet foods are either tax free or are certainly at a lower rate. not sure however why "Fish Food" doesn't count as pet food!

From what I remember about VAT returns when I was feeding cattle, feeds for human food producing animals are zero rated but pet food is standard rated. If you sell hay for cattle, it is zero rated. If you sell hay for horses it should be standard rated unless the buyer is prepared to say they are going to eat their horse. There are some high food value pig, poultry and cattle feeds around that, I am sure, will do the job as well as any expensive fish feeds.

There are also some fairly potent dog and cat foods around. Someone told me that they always get 'Greyhound' feeds because the VAT is lower on it, but I'm not so sure about that.

See you all on September 22nd http://www.march-info.org

Posting this e-mail from Simon King (Haith's Supercatch) regarding free boilies offer.

Many Thanks Mall for your email link to:

http://anglersnet.co.uk/ubb/ultimatebb.php I must say that some really

healthy debates are going on and it's great to see so much passion for

angling. Maybe the cage bird and pigeon fanciers could take a leaf out

of your book and use this type of forum to try and revive young interest

in what is sadly a declining interest.

Anyway, regarding "Maybe I should ask him for discount for ANGLERSNET.co.uk

members?"

Good idea! I'd like to do something long term, but in the meantime what

about this...

We've just launched our first SuperRed 20mm Boilie which can be found by

this link...

http://www.shopcreator.com/mall/Haiths/ for a

limited period only, any Anglers' Net Regular who orders 2.5kg of Boilies

via this link and quotes their Member # and mentions that they have come

through anglersnet will get 1Kg of Boilies FREE! (Saving £9.00).

As stated above, I'd like to do something for the long term to ease the bait

buying burden but let's see how this goes initially.

Kind regards,

Simon King
