Does the poor turn out of anglers at any such meetings not illustrate the opposite Steve ? If anglers wanted to be managed and involved in meetings surely they would turn up in their thousands.....

Wouldn't they ?

There were about 20 or so people at the meeting, which would indicate to me that most anglers don't know they are being 'represented'.

I think it's now time that the few people who want to represent everyone else, stopped meddling in other people's business. It's just not right that so few people are able to influence the future of so many people's sport - without their say so.

here we go again, yet another topic ruined where the blame is all based on the reps mis-representing yet again. What blame can be put on the reps for this meeting?

:yawn::yawn::yawn::yawn: It ain't the reps that are pulling the strings, it's the men in suits who are trying to protect thier jobs and pensions, how about channelling some of your energy in that direction instead of trying to send us to sleep.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

The primary purpose of this meeting seemed to be to gauge whether we were interested in them setting up another 'body' that would be tasked with representing sea anglers in this area.

I disagree, Barry. The 'men in suits' told us they didn't want an RSA Strategy. It can only be 'representatives' who are pushing for it again, as was the case last time.

Bary

Why don't you read the posts? It would save you keep having to post questions and telling us how bored you are. If you just read what has been written, all the answers are usually in the posts.

I must be missing something here then unless there is a group of 'reps' going around the country or hearing about proposed meetings and getting thier veiws in without anyone else knowing about it. Much like a nod nod, wink wink sect.

So thats it then, all we need to do, tell the men in suits to ignore the reps and all will be well.

I think you'll find that the last time a Government Department negotiated with an individual was between 1946 - 48 ... a certain gentleman named Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.

I can't see Defra or Mr Borg offering one on one talks with anglers.

As a result of this, stakeholder groups are invited to formal discussions, but everyone is free to attend their 'on the road' consultation meetings.

One of our problems (recreational anglers) is that most don't give a damn enough about their pastime to attend or contribute.

The best thing the 'Grouchos' could do is join up with and influence or even gain control of a recognised body.

Until then, the most you are likely to accomplish is to contribute to your own frustration and sense of failure.

Good luck, though!

They could also form their own one, Ada.

Just out of interest, who do you see as a 'recognised body'? I was led to believe that the Angling Trust was our 'recognised body', but I can find sweet Fanny Adams on their website about what they are doing on our behalf, or even who they've charged with the task of looking after sea anglers' interests.

My last email regarding their policies was ignored, so pointless me trying to ask them anything else.

In this instance, we were asked to attend a meeting and give our opinions to the EJSFC representatives. A few people bothered to do so. What is your problem with that?
