Carp lakes around Maxey, Peterbourgh.

Maxey number one is the big lake on the opposite side of the dirt track from Gerrards. Not sure of the exact price, but it's around £150 per year.

It is stuffed full of Carp, average 10lbs but there are some twenties. It also holds a number of Cats.

Lolham is a 12 acre lake a mile or two down the road with fish to thirty pounds plus. This is around £80 per year,

Bainton also in the area has a number of lakes with various stockings of Carp

There are also a number of other lakes in the Maxey area.

Some of my forum members may be able to give you more info at www.fish-on.htmlplanet.com It is a Cambridgeshire focused Carp site.

Cheers

Boz

That isn't quite correct. Maxey No.1 is a syndicate only water, and is behind the bungalows on Maxey High Street. The lake opposite Gerrard's is Maxey No.4, which is also season ticket only, and holds loads of very stunted carp, a few zander, and one or two big catfish. It seems ridiculously over priced for the size of the fish it contains, as there are bigger carp in Gerrard's, and also of a better average size. Gerrard's is now the only day ticket water at Maxey.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

If your long weekend has been anything like mine, you could have written anything!

Leigh,

Have a look at Bainton lakes, Nr Bainton (Stamford). You should be able to get more info from the website;

www.predator-fishing.co.uk

The carp syndicate is full & has a waiting list but they are in some of the other lakes on the complex and the tickets won't break the bank.

Rob.
