float fishing for carp

do many people float fish for carp anymore? if i did im guesing (excuse the spelling) id have to fish on the bottom because carp are bottom feeders and could i use a hair rig with a float?

Yeah, I still do on commercials with quite light line. Great fun seeing the float slide away...more of a thrill than alarms I have to say.

 

Yeah, you can use a hair rig. I fish on the bottom, but I imagine if it's hot they'll be in the surface layers so you could fish quite shallow ???

float fishing just under the surface is a great tactic. where i fish if you use a big lump of breadflake you cant go wrong and me and my dad have had some big fish doing that. also i would have thought with the amount of people doing 'specialist' carp fishing now, that it was only matchmen that float fish for carp which i think is sad really because float fishing for carp is one of my most favourite tactics

Use a controller/bubble float for casting weight and something that floats as bait
