Brolly Conversions

Recommended Posts

Right guys i am having some thoughts and some troubles with the wind and the rain lol.

First thing is i am going to either try and make some sides for me brolly. (enlisting the help of one of the finest women on a sewing machine out there) and make me some mini sides for me brolly,

Or if that fails miserably then what do you guys think of this shelter?

https://www.bosfish.co.uk/PRODUCTS/bivvies/Le774.htm

And i would like to customize it slightly, for instance get rid of the groundsheet, now i know how to do this while also keeping the tension in the poles, no problems there.

Or if that idea also fails, what about this cheapo overwrap?

all depends on available finances? this is such a mine field.

the photo is not the best but dont look like it provides much shelter. The overrap looks more protective if you are'nt looking to change the set up.

I have a Leeda Brotel which rarely gets used on the bank (it happens to fit my boat :) ) But its a very well made bit of kit and at around £38.00 good value. It is so simple to erect. About 30 seconds is a bad day. If you want to peg it, then a little longer. Take a look here

As posted on another thread, I got a Nash Outlaw Hurricane for £60, but although I've only used it once I think I've made a mistake.

I was originally looking at the Nash Nomad brolly, but stumbled across the Hurricane at a knock down price & got seduced by the thought of getting a bargain.

I wish I'd gone for the Nomad which would've been less bulky, easier to carry & more mobile, which would've been better suited to my day sessions. Bugger!

Anyone want to buy a Nash Outlaw Hurricane?

The De-luxe Brotel is deep enough for me, the old standard one wasn't. You can change the shape somewhat, for instance making it deeper but narrower. However, you can't get a full size bedchair under even the De-Luxe, so it isn't suitable for overnight sessions. It's ever so easy to carry as it's long and thin like a Brollie, and the bag has a shoulder strap.

Sorry, no other pics.
