Not sure about this one but I have a fly rod that is almost brown in colour with a cork handle, it is marked AFT5/6 Hardy 3 Glas Rothrus3 Delft, it is about 8' 6". The lettering is done by hand and the word glas is how it is on the rod. The first ring has a plastic liner and looks like a later addition.

I know nothing about these things but assume that it is a rod built from a Hardy blank.

Let me know if you are interested as it is just taking up space and will never be used.

Norrie, its the one I showed to you and you said it was possibly a Brook/stream rod

Cheers

Maybe it would be an idea for a new member to establish themselves on here before they start buying and selling.

That way the real enthusiast angler would stay around a bit longer than a 'dealer' just after a steal of a bargain off some one who thought they are doing a favour????????

Well done Chesters, with information like that I hope you reported the post to the mods :(

As you said Ferret some of us have gear knocking around that would be appreciated by genuine amature collectors from AN but the dealers/free loaders are starting to creep in once again

Norrie, I will call you again asap, I am not having any problems getting calls from anyone else  Could be the new phone though

Well done chesters1,I dont know you do it but he had me fooled, thought he was a private collector, turns out he is a dealer.Old Paddy here was about to offer him a couple of Hardy Houghton's and Gold Medal Plakona's,glad I read your post, rather keep them on this side of the Pond anyway!

PS the book is a great read brought back many happy memories, thanks :)

i am not saying he's a dealer but serious collectors collect only what their after ,having "spare" reels hanging about is strange and as he seems to collect just about everything even stranger
