Never seen so many bass up here in Yorkshire. The trawlers, beach netters and anglers catching plenty. Maybe these fish have moved north to provide us with some posh nosh.

Our lass the other day "Oh not bass again for tea" will have to think about bass-cakes or something!

Nothing changes with this government. mr shaw is acting the same as his other cabinet collegeues. Crisis management. One minute it is sustainable, the next panic. More to come i think.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

More like"catch and freeze" up here Barry. Release and the chances are they will swim striaght into the nearest licenced beach net. Things been tough up here in Yorkshire its always good to have some reserve sources of protien.

The title is that the bass stocks are collapsing. There is new evidance to support that. Is it possible to have sight of that evidance?

For a while now every one has been banging on about increasing the 36mm mls to help improve the stock. The rsa have been asking for bigger fish. Have we now lost sight of that and has it become unimportant as John Leballeur is now asking the minister for a close season and mpa's for the stocks survival.

I was under the impression with others that there is more bass about, however they are much smaller.

Is the evidance showing that bass nursey areas are not working and that too many juveniles are being caught before they are large enough to breed?

One point Clem, if the bass swim into licenced nets, thats better than the bass swimming in through the back door of a resturant somewhere.

Hello Barry

I suspect the bass recruitment for the last 3 or 4 years has been very low, cod recruitment has been high I've always said when conditions are good for one they are not for another and it does not seem to matter how large the breeding stock is.

I've always thought that bass nursery areas had little to do with helping bass stocks.

I doubt the bass stock will collapse, in the same way as the cod stock didn't.

I am also wondering if globle warming has started to decline.

I fish to live and live to fish.
