I think peters point is that the CA are riding on the back of angling (no pun intended)to promote there real agenda which is in fact hunting with hounds. They have little real feeling for angling and that we should stand up and fight our own battles. They need us but we don't need them. In fact we could do a lot of harm to our own cause seeing as most of the general public are aganst hunting but are indifferent about angling. lets not lump ourselves in with them.

Another sparkling Chatsworth Angling Fair 25.05.2004

25th May 2004

This, the Silver Jubilee of the Chatsworth Angling Fair at Chatsworth House on the banks of the River Derwent, was one of the UK’s biggest ever angling-focused events. Thousands of people were able to watch and take part in demonstrations, see the latest angling gizmo and rub shoulders with the fishing famous.

Chatsworth was of great value to our Campaign as it gave us a chance to project our message to a very wide and eclectic audience.

Chatsworth Angling Fair is the anniversary of our launch, and this was our fourth anniversary. This year our stand featured varied debates ranging from education, promotion, protection, women in angling and angling’s future. A great many came to hear the likes of Bob Nudd, Ian Heaps, John Wilson, Bob James, myself, Mark Bowler and Chris Jackson, whilst during the intervals the eager audience was treated to the culinary expertise of the Head Chef at the Isaac Walton Hotel.

The Fair, as well as being great fun, was beneficial for the business-end of the Campaign as it enabled a great many meetings to take place because so many of angling’s movers and shakers were in the same place at the same time. Our newly appointed campaign Chairman, Baroness Golding, was able to meet with the Environment Agency, Get Hooked on Fishing and Dreamstore and to understand better the shape of angling in the context of young people, an area in which she has a particular interest. The show was also blessed with glorious weather – and shocked those who had come prepared for the usual mud bath. Chatsworth is also confirmation of the health of angling within its followers, who are up beat and clearly growing in numbers.

I just wonder which CAMPAIGN our? Charles is referring to

He even refers to himself in the same tense as Bob Nudd and Ian Heaps, at least he's a tryer.

You just don't know me Nature Boy, nor, apparently do you know angling. Its all a question of attitude. What side are you on?

I do not know of a single angler who would 'Celebrate' the killing and brutal torture of a fish the way that fox hunters do when they are 'there at the kill'

Sorry, but we are worlds apart.

The British Field Sports Society is the Countryside Alliance, they changed the name.

but not a fact they shout about is it?

A little like Tony Blair pretending to be a socialist-but it got him to be PM
