river chub fishing on the Kennet

Less than a month to go before the end of the the river season. Tragic or what! Anyway desparately wanting to catch a 5lb chub could any one suggest likely areas on the Reading ticket please?

Hello Alan. Go to Severals on the Avon and catch a 6lber!

Seriously, try Wigmore Lane. When you get to the r/about with Pangbourne right(if you come from the Reading direction) take a left into Wigmore Lane. Park on the lefthand side before the Railway. Cross railway and head right. At gate turn left to river.

Follow this upstream for about 100 yds or so until you see a brick wall going into the water on the far bank. Fish the feeder alongside this. You may be bothered with barbel though. Get there early. If no go fish a big lump of cheesepaste in the weir 200yds upstream.
