The boast of Leeds council is sport for all, however not for anglers, we have two small ponds which are not really managed, Roundhay Park which is a council water but leased to Leeds angling club, who do allow day tickets on this water. Any young angler in the Leeds area who would like to join a junior club you could not do better then Leeds anglers, and its run by Paul Stead, who puts great effort into the juniors, the young anglers are taken fishing nearly every week-end plus some evenings in the summer. The other excellent club for juniors in the Wakefield area is Wakefield angling club the juniors are run by Frank Wright from Flanshaw dam. These two anglers and their team do a super job well done lads. Back to councils I do not beleave Wakefield council do very much at all for anglers other the the Anglers country park. Is your council supporting football, golf, swimming ect and nerglecting your sport lets not forget its our council tax that pays for the sports fields and sports centres, surley we have the right for a equail slice of the cake?
