Thanks for your replies guys , I have done a bit of coarse fishing through the years but not of any sort of serious sort . I have caught my share of tiddlers . I have spent a bit of time fishing a few ponds near me but want to try more river fishing as I have the river parrett near by and it seems to hold a good variety of fish in it .

Once again , thanks for the welcome

kind regards Sam

Ziggy , perhaps in the new year we could meet up on the bank some time , one venue I would like to try is the river that passes through hambridge as it looks half decent . I will pm you my details when my pm facility is up and running .

Hi Sam,

Could come along & see how its done, i'm a sea angler so don't have much clue about coarse fishing. The Hambridge stretch is controlled by the Newton Abbot fishing club, which is near Exmouth in Devon  Haven't a clue why, you never see them fishing there. I know the locals poach for pike there.

There is a section of free to fish river down at Burrowbridge, trouble is there is no where to park so you'd need to park up by the pumping station & walk back.

Have a look to see if Howard 14 is still on the site, he lived down there, he used to be in the course fishing section.

Cheers, Ziggy.
